WORKPLACE SERVICES
Elder Care Services
While many enjoy a relatively healthy retirement initially, the effects
of aging eventually catch up with everyone. Have your Clients planned for
the financial impact of staying in their homes if they or a loved one
needs care, for example for Alzheimer disease, Osteoporosis, severe
arthritis or Stroke? Our service always begins with a no-charge
assessment by a specially trained nurse who'll recommend just the right
person or team. (We even help our Clients navigate the Health Care
system.)
Insurance/Rehabilitation
Preferred Health, personal care, home support workers and
professional nursing staff are trained to work with multi-disciplinary
rehabilitation teams, to maximize Client outcomes and promote independent
living. For example, our home support staff will work with
Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to ensure an all
encompassing, Client-focused approach.
Osteoporosis - Bone Density
Testing
Osteoporosis affects 1.4 million Canadians. Bone Density testing utilizes
a Clinical Bone Sonometer, an ultrasound machine that scans the heel for
bone weakness. Results are produced in 10 seconds, indicating a low,
medium or high risk for developing osteoporosis. Based on the results,
the Certified Health Professionals can provide individualized
recommendations on diet, exercise and lifestyle changes or possible
referral to your doctor for more detailed testing. The procedure meets
the clinical standards of practice across Canada. We Care can set up a
customized, cost effective clinic at your workplace, or testing can be
arranged on an individual basis.
Pediculosis.
Preferred Health. has
adopted a comprehensive school health program to work more closely with
the schools and school boards. This approach is consistent with the
School Curriculum and recognizes that health is an important resource,
for daily living, and that many different factors affect the health and
well being of students.
Staff Relief
Preferred Health. Offers
temporary/permanent staff relief to businesses, institutions and
specialized care facilities, on a contract or fee-for-service basis. Our
temporary/permanent staffing personnel range from Registered Nurses,
Registered/Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Attendants, Disability
Service Worker, Disability Developmental Workers, Health Care Aide and
Personal Support Workers.

Preferred
Health, understands the unique nature of promoting
health and preventing disease in a community and/or workplace. Wellness
Programs include Influenza Immunization, Screening Clinics for
Hypertension, Cholesterol, and Glucose, Alcohol and Drug Testing,
Paramedical Examinations, and Employer Assistance Program.
